As we go into the colder months we wanted to celebrate the overlooked advantages of a wintery wedding.

The cosiness of candles and log fires, the glamour of  fur and long dresses and not least the amazing seasonal ingredients that emerge as the days grow shorter making for the most delicious and warming menu options.

We had a chat with our favourite caterers, The Wild Fork, to talk through some of the amazing ingredients and menu ideas that become available to you as we hit the cold months and they suggested the following as an ideal winter wedding menu:

Starter

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Mascarpone, Sage Beurre Noisette or Game Terrine, Piccalilli, Watercress

Amuse Bouche

Wild Mushroom Veloute or Game and Juniper Consomme

Main Course

Haunch of Venison, Pomme Sarladaises, Garlic Puree, Wilted Greens, Red Wine sauce
or
Pheasant Strogannoff, Chestnut Mushrooms, Basmati Rice

Pudding

Apple Tart Fine
or
Pecan Nut Pie with Clotted Cream
